If you are on our e-mailing list, we have you as part of the EOC Communications support team or on the list to keep receiving information.

We will need the following forms and volunteer information for the county of Volusia, Florida (VC).

  1. If you plan to complete the EOC application package, please open the Background Check Release, fill in the information and BRING IT TO A MEETING.  This form has your SSAN and DL info and SHOULD NOT BE EMAILED! It will go to County Emergency Management Staff and I will NOT keep a copy.
  2. Please read the Volunteer Policy and the County Volunteer Info.  Compliance with the requirements, including dress, in mandatory.  You will be representing VC Emergency Management.
  3. Next, we need an ARES Registration form.  This is a local form and the membership is maintained locally.  ARRL membership is not required, but we have an ARES MOU and if you are willing to completed and be considered an ARES member, it will help with things.  ARRL only gets total numbers.
  4. We will use the ARES Task Book as a way to monitor training along with the SERT TRAC data base.  As you complete additional training, please enter it in SERT TRAC and send an updated transcript.  If you don’t have one, the Task Book is attached.  You are not expected to do everything in it, but Level II will be the minimum to be utilized in the EOC or shelters along with the background check.  We also have some that are not going to be able to “deploy” but want to be active in a Technical support capacity.  As much as possible, I would like to keep the same documentation package on everyone.  How much you have to complete depends on how you wish to be utilized.  I hope we can utilize everyone that wants to be part of this group.
  5. If you want to be part of the EM EOC vetted group, please complete a application package and get it back to me.  We will add the SERT TRAC Transcript once you have ICS 100200700 and 800. The county will set up the EOC ICS interface course and we can do that one as a group.
